Chivas USA to face Toronto FC in 2007 home opener at The Home Depot Center

CARSON, Calif. - Club Deportivo Chivas USA will play host to the very first game of Major League Soccer's new Canadian franchise, Toronto FC, when Chivas USA opens its 2007 MLS season at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California on Saturday, April 7. The kickoff time for this historic match will be announced at a later date.


Chivas USA, coming off its first ever appearance in the MLS Playoffs, will take on a Toronto team that currently features Uruguayan playmaker José Cancela, All-Star midfielder Ronnie O'Brien and striker Edson Buddle. Toronto FC is coached by Mo Johnston, a former assistant of Chivas USA manager and 2006 MLS Coach of the Year Bob Bradley.
