Chivas USA 1, Wizards 1 -- quote sheet

CHIVAS USA 1, KANSAS CITY WIZARDS 1

CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH BOB BRADLEY

On the game:
"There's a level of frustration. We had a good first ten minutes but obviously they were sitting back and required a little bit of patience to break them down. As the first half went on our final passes and our decisions were poor and as a result we lost our energy. Our second half was better in that regard, I think we had more life and it's still nice to see us push and get a goal. Obviously, there's still ten minutes after you get the goal to try to finish them off so in that regard there's a disappointment level. We should take three points from this game and we don't, so that's something we have to keep trying to deal with."

On the forwards:
"It's a tough game too. Kansas City has a plan of keeping a lot of numbers back, there's not much space, so the timing of breaking them down - if you look at the whole game I think we created a pretty good number of advantages. Still, between at least one call and some other times where we couldn't deliver the final ball, we let them off the hook tonight."

CHIVAS USA DEFENDER ORLANDO PÉREZ
On the game:
"This was a game we needed to win because it was a home game. A point is not enough, but now we need to focus on what is ahead of us."

On the condition of the field:
"I think it was in bad shape. They just put new sod on the field, but that is not an excuse; we didn't play well tonight."

CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER FRANCISCO MENDOZA

On the referee's decisions:
"I don't like to talk about the referees, but tonight, they stole the show. This referee really affected the final result with his decisions and I feel bad about the referees' performance."

About the team's attitude:
"I think that we were a little bit over-confident at the beginning of the game and they took advantage of their lone chance to score. We need to improve in that regard, especially now that we are in the final phase of the season."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS HEAD COACH BRIAN BLISS

On the game:
"I think the first six to eight minutes we were quite fortunate not to be down 1-0, and then I think our guys woke up a little bit and from about the tenth minute to the end of the first half I thought it was a pretty decent game from our standpoint. We were able to get the free kick goal from José and close out that half. We knew that in the second half Chivas would come hard and strong and they did; they pushed the game and made us work very hard and we expended a lot of energy and unfortunately we weren't able to hold them off but I commend my guys for the work they put in and the Chivas team played a good game."

On taking a result after the recent busy schedule:
"Well that was very important. We took the loss at the Open Cup and then we had a loss on Wednesday, so we took it twice on the chin in three days, and when you're on the road for seven days I don't care what anybody says, it take a toll on you. Guys are away from their families that long, all cooped up in a hotel, and it's difficult. For us to come out here and fight and get a point, I'm proud of the guys. It's important."

On getting tired:
"It was the fifth game in eleven days, and we're eventually going to run out of gas. That could very well have been a reason why the goal was scored. But I think we were a little bit fortunate not to concede a goal earlier on, so I've got to be satisfied with 1-1."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS GOALKEEPER BO OSHONIYI
On the recent stretch of games:
"We can look at the positives and see that we're playing pretty well, we just gave up our legs there at the end from the long road trip. But I guess we can look at the positive and know that we're pointed in the right direction. But a point here is tough, but we were able to weather the storm and get out of here with a tie."

On his performance:
"It's one of those games where you know you're going to be under pressure and you know you're going to have to make some saves to keep your team in it. I was able to make a few, but I wish I could've made the one that would've given us the three points. But you can only do so much back there and at the end of the day we're glad to get a point and now we can look forward to Dallas on Sunday."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS DEFENDER JOSÉ BURCIAGA JR.

On his free kick goal:
"I think that from that close I had to shoot it. I just wanted to get a good shot on goal and it worked out and it gave us the 1-0 lead. Overall I think we played well, we bounced back from Chicago, we just have got to bear down and try to stay mentally focused for 90 minutes. We were short six minutes and we've got to get better."

On if the keeper even saw his shot:
"Honestly, I don't think so. He thought I was going to go near post and it kind of surprised him and made him freeze up. It was a tough break for him but a good thing for us."
