Chivas USA 1, FC Dallas 0 -- quote sheet

CHIVAS USA 1, FC DALLAS 0

FC DALLAS HEAD COACH COLIN CLARKE

On the match:
"We didn't pass the ball well, particularly in the first half. The second half was better, but in the first half we couldn't connect passes, our decisions were slow and it wasn't good all around. The second half was better and we put them under pressure but we couldn't get the goal."

On the central defensive pairing of Alex Yi and Greg Vanney:
"I was disappointed with the goal, but I thought that they did pretty well. They didn't have a whole lot of threat against us apart from the goal. (Chivas USA) sat back once they scored and weren't much of a threat after that."

On the importance of getting a result against Real Salt Lake on Saturday:
"We're seven points clear (of Houston) and level on games so that means we have to go and get a result on Saturday in Salt Lake which is a tough place to go. They're another team that is battling and scratching for points so we know it's going to be a good fight."

FC DALLAS GOALKEEPER DARIO SALA

On the Chivas goal:
"I came out to cut out the deep pass and I thought that it was going to be an easy ball because they played it too hard, but someone touched it on the way in and stopped the ball. It was unlucky for us."

On the match:
"They only had one shot in the first half and that was the goal. But we didn't create a lot of chances either and we only put (Chivas USA goalkeeper Brad) Guzan to work a couple of times and that was not enough. They were very well organized in the defense and we had a difficult time breaking them down."

FC DALLAS DEFENDER BOBBY RHINE

On the result:
"We just weren't good enough on the whole. We gave up a sloppy goal, weren't good going forward. When we tried to get the ball wide the crosses weren't good enough. We didn't get penetrating runs through the middle and feed the ball into the feet of the forwards. On the whole, it was just an awful night for us."

On the importance of getting a result against Real Salt Lake on Saturday:
"This was one of those games that we're just going to have to put behind us and concentrate on scrapping and fighting for a result on Saturday. There were some positives to take from this and we're going to have to focus on those, put this result behind us and get on with it."

CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH BOB BRADLEY

On the game:
"Honestly, we fell behind in too many games and we wanted to get on top tonight. It wasn't our best game but it's important to know how to win on the road, even when you don't play your best. Tonight we had a good team effort good mentality. (Brad) Guzan made a good save. A lot of things went our way tonight."

CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER JONATHAN BORNSTEIN

On the game and his assist:
"A 1-0 win was enormous for us. I got the ball in the middle of the box, kind of high, and when I pulled the ball back 'Loco' (Juan Pablo Garcia) was in the right spot and I just let him have it."
