Chivas USA 1, Dynamo 1 -- quote sheet

CHIVAS USA 1, HOUSTON DYNAMO 1

CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH BOB BRADLEY

On the game:
"I was pleased with the response after getting behind. I thought that we started the second half quite well; the first 10 minutes I thought we picked up the tempo of the game and we were starting to put some passes together, we got better movement, but then we slipped up and (Dwayne) De Rosario buried one. I thought we had about a 10-minute period where we stopped moving but then we got ourselves going again. We got a good goal and yet there's still this next part that says when you have a little momentum and you've got a team a little bit on the ropes can you finish them off and that's something that we still need to push here."

On the team's goal for this week's games:
"The goal is to win at home. Always. So tonight is still a good effort, it's a good game. There are things I thought we did well, as always, there's things that I think we can do better, but plain and simple the goal is to win at home, to get three points always."

On whether Chivas USA wanted to win Wednesday more than Saturday:
"Honestly, we know there are two teams ahead of us and we play them both, and we didn't differentiate which one was the one we wanted. We wanted them both, and so tonight we weren't able to get the three points. We still get some satisfaction out of coming from behind and getting one, and now we set our sights on three on Saturday."

CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER JESSE MARSCH

On his goal:
"It was good. It was harder to miss than to make. We deserved at least a point tonight. We fought real hard, I'm proud of the effort the guys did."

CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER FRANCISCO MENDOZA

On the match:
"It was a very difficult match. They have a good team, but we got one point and that allows us to continue rising in the standings and keeps us in the fight. They came to play their game, so a tie isn't bad. Now we have to think about Dallas, another home match and we should look for three points."

CHIVAS USA FORWARD JUAN FRANCISCO PALENCIA

On how he felt in the match:
"I felt very good in the game. I think that the team demonstrated a lot of maturity, because we didn't get down after they scored the goal."

On the next match:
"Starting tomorrow we start thinking about Dallas. Now we have to analyze this match; we have to take the good with the bad and come to certain conclusions."

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On getting two ties in Los Angeles:
"Six days tomorrow. I think when you come into this trip you're looking to win both games, you think to come up with four points, a win and a tie, is considered a good trip. To come out with two ties even though we didn't get beat, the general feeling is disappointment."

On Dwayne De Rosario:
"I thought with the attacking play with the players I always expect to get goals, whether one or two or three. I think we had those chances tonight. With 1-0 up we had some good goal-scoring chances to go up 2-0 but we didn't do that so it gives them hope to stay in the game."

On Brian Ching's performance after returning from the World Cup:
"I just thought he was tired. I thought maybe we could bring someone in to give us a little spark at the end."

On substituting Kevin Goldthwaite:
"We wanted Brad on the field. There was 10 minutes to go, moving Dwayne back and Brad we are good on set pieces. Brad can hold the ball; there was more of a chance to get a more attacking player on the field to win the game."

On the end of the match:
"I think it's disgusting that fans still today throw objects on the field at opposing players. I think it's disgusting."

On the referee's last call:
"I thought he was calling Pat over to get him out of the way and he was going to let him clear it out. I didn't know how much stoppage time was left, I'm sure that there was only a minute or so. Safety for players is first on the field, it's the referees' job to have safety for the players, but I would've liked to have kept on playing. I thought we had something left."

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD ALEJANDRO MORENO

On getting two draws in Los Angeles:
"The upside is we didn't lose those games but in the end we are a little disappointed because we thought we played well enough to win both of the games, and in the end we only go back to Houston with two points and that is a disappointment."

On the team's performance:
"We created chances and in the end we didn't take advantage of those chances and if you don't take advantage of chances it costs you games. Obviously, as I said before, it is disappointing when we go up a goal and we think we will are going to be able to control the game and then we make a mistake in the back and we give up a goal and we don't take advantage of the chances we created to put the game away."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER DWAYNE DE ROSARIO

On getting two draws in Los Angeles:
"I am disappointed. I think we should be going back with six points but at the end of the day two points and no losses, we should have at least came out with four points, six points at the most."

On whether FC Dallas' defeat puts pressure on Dynamo:
"I think we should go to ever game to win. I don't really care what Dallas does. I think we should weigh by what we are doing and try to win every game. Tonight is a game we definitely should have won and we came up with a tie and we got to bury teams when we get a chance."

On his fifth goal of the season:
"Bittersweet. Scoring and winning, scoring and losing is not the same. I am glad I got the goal to help the team but we tied. It's bittersweet."
