Chivas USA 0, Galaxy 0 -- quote sheet

CHIVAS USA 0, LOS ANGELES GALAXY 0

CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH BOB BRADLEY

On the game:
"I thought it was a very good effort. For long periods, I thought the team played well. I'm disappointed to not take three points but we're pleased to see the way the team played throughout the game."

On his team's motivation:
"I think the team responded well to some tough games. Good teams know how to come back strong after those kinds of games. I thought our response was quite good."

On the Galaxy:
"They're in a stretch of games where they've defended well. I think they work hard as a unit, but I also felt that we were able to open them up at times."

On the next week:
"To go to Colorado is important -- Western Conference opponent, it's always a difficult place to play. Then we come back and enjoy the opportunity to play against América."

CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER JUAN PABLO GARCIA

On the intensity of the game:
"Both teams tried to play their game, both had chances to score. I feel like luck wasn't on our side, because we hit the post twice, and because of that we leave with a bad taste in our mouth."

On his belief in the Virgen de Zapopan, for whom a mass was performed before kickoff:
"She helps me a lot. I have been scoring goals and getting assists, and, most importantly, I haven't gotten hurt; that's why I continue to believe in her."

On the atmosphere at the game:
"The fans gave us a great entrance and all we can do is assure them that we're not going to disappoint them. They deserve the applause, because they're the best fans in the country."

CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER FRANCISCO MENDOZA

On the match:
"It was a very tight game, really intense on both sides. The only thing it was missing was a goal, but we couldn't bring it together. But we rescued a point, which is good, and it allows us to keep fighting for the a spot in the playoffs."

If somebody special was in the stands:
"Yes, my mother was in the stands; she's visiting me and that made me give something extra in the game. Because of that, I was a little tired at the end of the match."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY HEAD COACH FRANK YALLOP

On the game:
"I thought it was probably our worst performance since I've been here. Just for the way we've been playing, it was a down game for us. We just couldn't quite get it together, we couldn't work out how they were playing and we didn't pass the ball well at all. So you combine all those things together, but having said that we could have scored in the first minute of the match with Landon's (breakaway). I thought he got clipped but it looked as though he got pulled back a bit. Both teams had chances to score and it was an exciting nil-nil tie for the crowd, not so much for the coaches."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY GOALKEEPER KEVIN HARTMAN

On the team's performance and shutout streak:
"I thought that guys did well to stick with it and battle through some fatigue and keep the shutout streak going, that's something to be proud of as we continue to try to extend that. We had the opportunity on a few occasions to take the three points but we didn't let Chivas take three away from us and kept them somewhere within reach which is something we wanted to do. We had to struggle to overcome our first portion of the season, and with games like this one where you're not playing as well as you'd like to be you're still able to get points, which aren't necessarily satisfying. But, we are able to look forward to next week and try to make it four points in two games."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY FORWARD HERCULEZ GOMEZ

On the game:
"It's good knowing that sometimes you played bad, and you still come out with something, it's a point on the road. And defensively we're phenomenal right now."
