  • But it was the visitors who took the early lead. A searching ball from Francisco Mendoza found Ante Razov, and he laid it square to Juan Pablo Garcia in the area. Garcia then stabbed an audacious chip that floated over Rapids 'keeper Joe Cannon into the upper left-hand corner (10).

  • The Rapids pulled level, though, in the 58th minute. Eric Denton worked himself free in the left corner and pulled back a low cross from the byeline, which Dedi Ben Dayan turned home from inside the area for his third goal in the last four games.

  • Chivas USA head coach didn't make any changes to the team that defeated the Columbus Crew 2-0 at The Home Depot Center on Sunday afternoon.

  • After having a quiet April with two weekends off, Chivas face a busy stretch with two games each week in a three-week period, beginning with the Rapids match.

  • "We will rely on our entire roster and see what the fitness level of the team is, which has been a strength of our team," Bradley said.

  • After the Rapids had pulled level, Chivas packed in their defense and just tried to hold on for the final whistle, hoping to survive and maintain their grip on their point.

  • "When you get to the 90th minute in a game like that you get a feeling that you need to pack in and get your point," Bradley said. "Guys had done a lot of work and it just made sense to secure ourselves on the midfield."

  • But after the quality performances of the previous two weeks at home, the Chivas flow wasn't as present in Denver. "We struggled to find ourselves on the field and pass the ball around. It is frustrating, but we were able to come away with an important point," said defender Jason Hernandez.

  • For Garcia, it was a second goal in as many games. "I think it was a very intense game played mainly in the midfield. We were looking for the win, but we played timidly and didn't look for more (after the equalizer)," he said. "We were satisfied with the draw but I think the win (on the road) is going to come very soon. It's good to add a point and the truth is the team is as comfortable as can be on the road as we are at home.
