Chivas head to Houston to duel Dynamo

Chivas USA hits the road to Houston for the first meeting of 2008 between the Dynamo and the Red-and-White. The last match between the two teams in MLS was a 0-0 tie in the final game of the 2007 season, clinching the regular-season Western Conference title for Chivas USA. This season, both teams are off to a slow start, with Chivas USA looking to break a three-match losing streak, while Houston is looking for its first win of the year. All time, Chivas USA has a 2-4-3 record (W-L-T) against Houston, including playoff games, and the Red-and-White will continue looking to improve their all-time 1-6-4 (W-L-T) MLS record in Texas.


After returning from Houston, Chivas USA comes home to face the New England Revolution on Mothers' Day, Sunday, May 11, at 12:00 p.m. PT. • Houston has no injuries reported, while Chivas USA will be without defender Alex Zotinca and forward Alecko Eskandarian; the most recent injury report is available here. The Dynamo will be missing defender Eddie Robinson, who is suspended for the match.


• Chivas USA will fly to Houston on Friday in advance of the match, and will return Sunday. The Chivas USA Reserves (1-0-2, 5 pts) will play the Dynamo Reserves (1-0-0, 3 pts) on Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Robertson Stadium.


• The Red-and-White will take the official 2008 team photo on Monday, May 5 at Disney's California Adventure at 1313 Harbor Blvd. in Anaheim. The entire roster and coaching staff will be on-hand for the photo, to be taken at 11:00 a.m. Media will have an opportunity to interview players after the photo, and are invited to check-in after 10:30 a.m. at the resort esplanade.
