Chivas back home, back to winning

not taking anything away from them as players because they are key players for us -- but tonight we had more movement. You put Jonny in there and he's kind of buzzing around. Marsch and Bornstein helped create the first goal. Marsch ended up winning the ball outside the penalty area and slipped a pass inside the penalty area to Galindo. The Cuban striker squared a pass to Razov, who re-directed it in the back of the net for his first goal since May 26.

Columbus answered right back, though, as Stefani Miglioranzi scored off a corner kick. But after the break, the Chivas defense tightened up.

"We wanted to cut that down and wanted to pressure them a little bit higher and a little bit harder on the outside," defender Lawson Vaughn said. "I think we did that and we cut down that aspect of their attack. We still gave away too many free kicks but we defended our goal pretty well."

Francisco Mendoza was responsible for the match-winner. In the 69th minute, he fired a long-range cross-shot in at goal. Gaven inadvertently knocked the ball into the back of his own net, though, and Chivas regained the lead.

"That was a break. There was a time period where the first three months of the season where you feel like we weren't getting a lot of breaks and now you feel like we are getting some breaks," Marsch said. "You have to make your own breaks. You have to play good to make your own breaks. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good."
