Chivas announce Soccer Camp schedule

Chivas USA announced today its 2008 schedule of Soccer Camps, which also double as tryouts for the Chivas USA Youth Teams. The camps, which will all take place from June 26 to Aug. 30 at the Bell Gardens Sports Center in Bell Gardens, Calif., will give players a chance to receive professional instruction from Chivas USA coaches, and could potentially lead to an invitation to join the Chivas USA U-18 or U-16 Teams, which participate in the United States Soccer Development Academy, or the highly competitive U-15 Team.

Chivas USA will hold four 'Mini Camps' throughout the summer which will be available to players born between 1991 and 1996 (see age groups below). These one or two day training sessions will give players access to professional coaches and training sessions. With Chivas USA coaches and scouts at each camp, players will have a chance to be spotted and potentially invited to join one of Chivas USA's Youth Teams that participate in the Development Academy.

In mid-July, Chivas USA will also run a four-day Summer Camp, which will be an extension of the skills and techniques that are practiced during the Mini Camps. In addition to the same high-level coaching offered at the Mini Camps, players will be treated to visits from Chivas USA players during their time at the camp. All participants of both Mini Camps and the Summer Camp will receive a free t-shirt and ticket to a Chivas USA home game.
