Channel 55 becomes the local home of Houston Dynamo soccer

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Dynamo officially announced today that KTBU Channel 55 will be the exclusive local English language television home for Dynamo Soccer.

Channel 55 will broadcast 15 regular-season games in 2007 (see schedule below). The remaining 15 MLS games will air on a variety of national broadcast stations, including ESPN2, HDNet, Fox Soccer Channel, Telefutura, and Galavision.

Some of the most exciting matches of the season will air on Channel 55, including the opening day battle with the Los Angeles Galaxy, the 2006 MLS Cup rematch with the New England Revolution, and two games versus David Beckham. The Channel 55 schedule also features two games versus FC Dallas, and the Dynamo's first trip to Toronto FC.

The telecast will include the Infinity Insurance Pre-Game Show and the Gallery Furniture Post-Game Report, offering in-depth team coverage, game previews, game recaps, and highlights.

This Sunday will mark the premier of Dynamo Soccer on Channel 55 with the Infinity Insurance Pre-Game Show kicking off at 5:30 p.m. CST. Kickoff is slated for 6:05 p.m.

"We are extremely pleased to have Channel 55 as our local English language television partner," said Dynamo Chief Operating Officer, Chris Canetti. "We believe that this partnership will provide Dynamo fans with the finest local television coverage in all of Major League Soccer."

Charlie Pallilo, one of Houston's most respected and well-known sports personalities will call the play-by-play. Charlie is returning to the Dynamo's telecast for a second straight season.

Glenn Davis, a nationally-recognized broadcaster and local soccer icon, will handle the color commentary for 11 of the games. Davis has covered several nationally telecast Dynamo games, but he will make his debut on the Dynamo's local telecasts. Davis is well known for his soccer column in the Houston Chronicle and his radio show, the Dynamo Power Hour with Glenn Davis on 790 The Sports Animal.

Ty Keough, a veteran soccer analyst will cover the color commentary for four games. Keough's resume includes the 2002 World Cup and has done national work with ABC and ESPN. He also did some work in the Dynamo broadcast booth last season.

Channel 55 is Houston's leading independent broadcasting station specializing in locally produced sports programming. Each week KTBU airs "High School Sports Live" with Todd Freed, "Sports Off Center" with Craig Roberts and "The Dynamo Soccer Show" with Glenn Davis.
