Celebrate Asian Heritage May 19

Dynamo forward Brian Ching made a visit to Kolter Elementary School to promote the event.

May is national Asian Heritage Month, and the culture will take center stage at the Dynamo May 19 game against New England. In addition to a Parade of Nations presented by Kolter Elementary School, numerous groups from the Houston area will add their own colorful performances to add flavor to the MLS Cup rematch. Among the backdrops at Robertson Stadium will be a halftime presentation of Chinese dragons from the Chinese Community Center.

Along with the Chinese Community Center, the Dynamo has received input on this historic event from the Asian Chamber of Commerce, the Asia Society and the Asian Pacific American Heritage Association.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for the Asian community to see these great players," said Elsie Huang, president of the Asian Chamber of Commerce. "Soccer is a growing sport in our community and it is wonderful that we have the Dynamo here."

To commemorate this night of pageantry, the Dynamo is presenting a special ticket offer to the community. Groups purchasing 15 or more tickets (though contact at the Dynamo office, 713/276-7521) will receive autographed Brian Ching memorabilia.
