"Anytime you're involved with a game with Chelsea it's a showcase," Cannon said.
"My concern is that we come out and be tactically smart. You can't do anything about things like speed and individual skills."
And the eight-year MLS veteran -- making his third appearance in an All-Star Game -- hopes he can play his part in helping the MLS All-Stars to what would be, in some parts, a surprising victory.
"I hope to make the plays I'm supposed to make," Cannon said, "and hopefully two or three that I'm not supposed to make."
