Bulls seek revenge as United visit

Ben Olsen scored three goals as United won their last meeting with the Red Bulls.

there's work to do. I think their performances weren't good enough in some respect, but organizationally we weren't good enough. We strung ourselves out and turned it into a race -- you attack, we'll attack, you attack, and when you have a three-goal lead you've got to be smarter than that. We're about a team that's disciplined and organized and try to stay compact and we didn't do any of that so we're going to watch a lot of video this week."
• Said goalkeeper Troy Perkins: "We could have been up 6-0 and still not kept it. The way the game was going, we couldn't keep the ball very well and with two mistakes on my end, it happens. I'll take the blame for this one."
• The United players said they hadn't earned the three-goal lead when they had it, and perhaps that's where the wide separation occurred between attack and defense that FC Dallas exploited so clinically.
• "You can only do so much in a lot of situations like that and you need to sort it out on the field," Soehn said. "We always talk about keeping our shape in the attack and it looked like we had too many numbers going forward. When you always look at all the players and you have four of five guys who aren't playing up to par, you're setting yourself up for trouble and that's exactly what happened."
• In another blow for United, captain Jaime Moreno will miss at least a week of action after limping off with a strained hamstring in the 54th minute, forcing him to watch the Dallas comeback from the bench.
• "We got too comfortable, I think, with 3-0 and we've got to give them credit - they never stopped working and they never stopped believing," said the Bolivian international. "They came at us and we just totally lacked that concentration. That can't happen again."
• The result took the luster off another strong performance from Luciano Emilio, who tallied his third multi-goal game in a United uniform. The Brazilian striker has now scored 10 league goals this season, tied for the league lead.
• "Any time you score there's some personal satisfaction you can take away from that, but obviously the most important thing is the result and even though it's a tie, it feels like a loss," Emilio said. "It's very frustrating because we're trying to gain points. This is a game that we've got to forget about and move forward."
