The Brew @ 105.7 to again be the radio play-by-play home of the Crew

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Crew, in conjunction with Clear Channel Columbus, announced today that The Brew @ 105.7 (WBWR-FM), will continue to serve as the Crew' English radio home. All 30 regular-season Crew games and every Crew playoff match will be broadcast live on The Brew, kicking off on Saturday, April 7, at 7 p.m. (ET), with the season opener against the New York Red Bulls at Crew Stadium. A 15-minute pre-game show will precede each game broadcast.

"Clear Channel Columbus is an industry leader and valued partner," said Chad Schroeder, the Crew's VP of Corporate Sales and Broadcasting. "We are proud to call The Brew @ 105.7 our radio home for our English language broadcasts."

Neil Sika, entering his second season, will serve as the primary radio play-by-play announcer for the Crew. Sika has been the "Voice of Ohio State Hockey" the last five seasons and served in the same role for Ohio State baseball in 2004-05. He will be joined by Ohio State men's head soccer coach John Bluem, who will handle color commentary duties for home radio broadcasts. Dwight Burgess, the original "Voice of the Crew," will serve as the Crew's primary television play-by-play announcer for all local television broadcasts, but will sit in on radio broadcasts when the Crew is on national television.

The "Crew Soccer Update" will continue to air daily, Monday-Friday, beginning on Monday, April 2. Donatos, Huntington, OhioHealth, Pepsi and the Ohio Learning Network are all presenting sponsors of both the "Crew Soccer Update" and each Crew game broadcast. Webcasts of all Crew games can also be heard on TheCrew.com.

"We think the fit between The Brew @ 105.7 and the Columbus Crew could not be better," said Tom Thon, Clear Channel Regional Vice President. "We look forward to once again welcoming Crew fans from across central Ohio to the unique music and sports programming offered on The Brew. The Brew's format focuses on a high-energy blend of 1980s rock music that should appeal to Crew game listeners."
