CHICAGO (Sept. 5, 2007) - Brazil's only training session leading up to the Sept. 9 "Clash of Champions" match with the United States will be open to the public at 3:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill.
Fans are expected to quickly snatch up the limited number tickets available to see international superstars Ronaldinho, Kaka and the world's No. 1-ranked team in this rare public session in the Chicago area, just one day before taking on the U.S. Men's National Team in a friendly match at Soldier Field.
General admission tickets for the training session go on sale at 5 p.m. today for $20 at ticketmaster.com, by phone at 312-559-1212 and at all Ticketmaster ticket centers throughout Chicagoland (including Carson Pirie Scott, f.y.e., Hot Tix, and Ritmo Latino).
Parking at Toyota Park is included in the price of each ticket, and the parking lots open at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fans with tickets should enter the training session through Gate C beginning at 3 p.m.
More than 30,000 tickets have been sold for Sunday's "Clash of Champions," with kickoff at Soldier Field set for 3 p.m. CT. Tickets for the game can also be purchased at ussoccer.com and all Chicagoland Ticketmaster outlets. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and Univision, and fans can also follow the match live online via ussoccer.com's MatchTracker.
Fans will have the rare opportunity to see some of the best players in the world train as Brazil are bringing a full roster for their match against the United States, including Ronaldinho and Kaká. Ronaldinho has put his legendary skills on display for both club and country over the past couple weeks, recording a goal and an assist in Brazil's 2-0 win against Algeria on Aug. 22, and then tallying two goals to help Barcelona down Athletic Bilbao this past weekend. He has scored 40 goals for Barcelona during the last two seasons, and scored two goals as part of Brazil's 2002 World Cup winning side.
A.C. Milan midfielder Kaká, who led all scorers in the 2007 UEFA Champions league with 10 goals to help Milan win their seventh European championship crown, is regarded as one of the most superb passers in the world. Real Madrid striker Robinho scored 14 goals in helping his side capture the 2006-07 Spanish league title, and ended as the leading scorer in the 2007 Copa America with six goals. His fellow Real Madrid striker, Julio Baptista, and Sevilla defender Daniel Alves scored two of the three goals in the 3-0 Copa America
Former Brazilian international midfielder Dunga took the reigns following the 2006 World Cup, and has amassed a 12-2-3 record as a head coach since then, including a pair of 3-0 victories against archrivals and No. 2 ranked Argentina.
