Bradley names roster for Ecuador and Guatemala matches on March 25 and 28 in Florida and Texas

CHICAGO - U.S. Men's National Team head coach Bob Bradley has called 24 players into training camp to prepare for the team's upcoming friendlies against 2006 World Cup finalists Ecuador and regional rivals Guatemala. With the matches falling on consecutive international fixture dates, Bradley was able to call upon a full complement of players based both domestically and abroad.

The U.S. visits Raymond James Stadium for the first time when they face Ecuador on March 25 at 12 p.m. ET. The U.S. then returns to Pizza Hut Park for the second consecutive year to face Guatemala when they meet in Frisco, Texas, on March 28 at 8 p.m. CT. Both matches will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and Galavision, and will be available to fans online via ussoccer.com's MatchTracker.

"This camp provides a great opportunity to see some of our experienced players from Europe, as well as some new faces, and incorporate them into the group and share the ideas that we have been building on since the beginning of the year," said Bradley, who is 2-0 at the helm of the full national team. "By the end of this camp, we will have had the chance to work with a vast majority of our player pool. It will be extremely beneficial when we have to make decisions about the Gold Cup and Copa America."

The roster features 11 players from the 2006 FIFA World Cup squad, including five players - DaMarcus Beasley, Steve Cherundolo, Landon Donovan, Kasey Keller, and Oguchi Onyewu - who appeared in all three matches. Keller is the leading capwinner on the squad, having earned 96 caps while posting 45 career shutouts. While second in caps with 86 appearances, Donovan is the USA's all-time leader in assists (24), having extended his lead by delivering the corner that led to Jimmy Conrad's game-winning goal against Mexico on Feb. 7 in Glendale, Ariz. With a total of 13 players plying their trade in Europe, seven are coming to Florida by way of the English Premier League. Oguchi Onyewu, the 2006 U.S. Soccer Male of the Year, returns to the fold after his winter loan move to Newcastle United.

While there is loads of experience on the roster, there are also plenty of fresh faces getting a look. A total of 11 players have five caps or less, with three players - Jay DeMerit, Benny Feilhaber and Frank Simek - looking for their first-ever cap with the full team. DeMerit, who scored the game-winning goal in the Playoff Promotion final last year against Leeds United to land Watford a place in England's top league, is the only player in the group with no experience with any of the U.S. national teams. FC Dallas striker Kenny Cooper made his debut with the full team in style earlier this year, scoring a breakaway goal in the 3-1 win against Denmark on Jan. 20 at The Home Depot Center.

On the domestic front, Houston Dynamo forward Brian Ching makes his first appearance in camp with the national team since the World Cup. The reigning MLS Champion scored the game-tying goal against New England in MLS Cup '06, equalizing after fellow national team striker Taylor Twellman had given the Revs a 1-0 lead. Of the 11 players on the roster who are based in MLS, six appeared in the USA's 2-0 win against Mexico last month, including four starters.

The U.S. will train for the Ecuador match at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., home of the U.S. Under-17 Residency Program. A total of seven players on the roster - Beasley, Michael Bradley, Donovan, Eddie Johnson, Onyewu, Heath Pearce and Jonathan Spector - are alumni of the U-17 program.

The match is part of a double-header involving the U.S. Under-17 MNT, who will take on the El Salvador U-17 MNT at 9:15 a.m. A ticket includes admission to both events.

After the March friendlies, the U.S. will see no action until preparation begins for the two major championships next summer. The U.S. will play a tune-up match against China on June 2 at Spartan Stadium in San Jose (tickets). Five days later, the three-time champions will first try to defend their title against 11 other teams at the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup, scheduled from June 6-24 in several cities across the United States. Just a few days later, the U.S. will participate in the 2007 Copa America, the regional championship of South America. The 12-team tournament will run from June 26 to July 15 in nine cities across Venezuela. For the United States, the appearance will mark their third entrance into CONMEBOL's signature event.
