Borgetti mulling potential move to U.S.

Jared Borgetti

MEXICO CITY - Mexico striker Jared Borgetti has revealed he is not going to be rushed into a decision about his future despite receiving two offers to play in the United States.

The Cruz Azul frontman has had proposals from Colorado Rapids and Kansas City Wizards but rejected others from Ukraine and Russia, admitting he is not keen on a move abroad.

"The truth is we are looking at some options, but I don't rule out the possibility of staying with Cruz Azul. There is nothing concrete at the moment," said Borgetti.

"We are only discussing things. The MLS is in the middle of a break right now, without any training or anything, so we have even more time."

The former Bolton Wanderers striker insists he does not want to rush any decision on his future.

"In the United States, the way clubs manage transfers is different, so depending on the people there we could hold talks with one team or another," added Borgetti

"We have already talked to Kansas and Colorado, looking at what possibilities we have. Anyway, I won't pick up the first offer that appears. I will try to stay on in Mexican football."

Borgetti has only completed 12 months of his two-year deal with Cruz Azul, but has the option to stay or leave the club after the first year under the terms of the contract.
