Blanco wins Sierra Mist Goal of the Week

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. --
Chicago Fire attacker Cuauhtémoc Blanco has won the Sierra Mist Goal of the Week award for his goal last Thursday in the club's 2-0 win at D.C. United.

Blanco helped seal the Fire's victory over United when he broke into space beyond the 18-yard box and bent a long-ranged strike into the upper right corner of the net for the game's second goal.

In what would eventually become the 2007 Sierra Mist Goal of the Year, Blanco last won the Goal of the Week in the Week 20 of 2007 when he scored a 25-yard game-winner at Real Salt Lake.
