D.C. United mascot Talon was the runner-up in Fox 5's first ever Mascot Madness challenge. Mascots from teams all over the metro D.C. area competed on the basketball court to see who is the best team supporter. Talon made it to the championship game but lost to G-Wiz of the Washington Wizards.
Joining Talon and G-Wiz were Screech (Washington Nationals), Uncle Slam (Potomac Nationals), Louie (Bowie Bay Sox), Pax (Washington Mystics), Slapshot (Washington Capitals), Jack (Georgetown Hoyas), George (George Washington), Gunston (George Mason University), The Cardinal (Catholic University) and Big Blue The Bison (Howard University).

Wells and Gallardo on Fox Soccer Channel
Fox Soccer Channel caught up with D.C. United designated player Marcelo Gallardo and goalkeeper Zach Wells as part of the 2008 MLS Season Preview Show. The show kicks off on Sunday, March 23 at 8:00 p.m. ET and will feature interviews with both United players, as well as interviews with Juan Pablo Angel and Claudio Reyna of the New York Red Bulls and a preview of the 2008 season.
Academy Update
The Under 16 squad came up with a 1-1 draw against the Baltimore Bays, even though they created many scoring opportunities. The Under 18s also tied 1-1 despite being shorthanded throughout most of the match. The Academy's next matches are both away, playing March 29 vs. Match Fit and March 30 vs. PDA.
