U-20s advance
United midfielder Bryan Arguez and his U-20 U.S. national team teammates defeated Uruguay in a thrilling match Wednesday evening in the FIFA U-20 World Cup round-of-16. The U.S. men earned a 2-1 victory on the strength of an overtime goal by Michael Bradley. The U.S. will play Austria, 2-1 winners over Gambia, on Saturday in Toronto in their fourth trip to the quarterfinals. The game, which kicks off at 2:15 p.m. ET, will be televised live on ESPNU and Galavision.

The U.S. advanced to the knockout stage after winning Group D. The team finished atop the group following an historic 2-1 victory over Brazil last Friday evening. Both goals were orchestrated by former United midfielder Freddy Adu. Arguez has yet to see the field for the team, but will be suited up for the contest with Austria.

Also of note, the team is led by D.C. United's TV color analyst Thomas Rongen, who re-joined the Comcast SportsNet team this year (he also served as a color analyst from 2002-04). Rongen served as United's head coach from 1999-01, leading the club to its third MLS Cup in his first season as the team's skipper.

Copa wrap-up
Bobby Boswell, Jaime Moreno and Ben Olsen have all returned to D.C. following their respective teams' elimination from Copa America. Olsen earned two starts for the U.S. men's national team - against Argentina (L 4-1) and Paraguay (L 3-1) - while Boswell started the team's final game of the tournament against Colombia (L 0-1). The team, made up primarily of young players, finished last in Group C.

Moreno, meanwhile, started each of Bolivia's three games and helped the club earn two draws by scoring two goals. The Bolivians finished in last place in Group A. The tournament wraps up on July 15, with the final taking place in Maracaibo, Venezuela. All games can be seen on TeleFutura and GolTV.
