Beckham talks life on Tonight Show

David Beckham

or 2 I think it was, was in the kitchen of our house," Becks said. "He got up, walked and kicked a can of beans, which was pretty amazing."

Meanwhile his youngest son Cruz, 3, prefers using his body to break-dance, and a video of him doing it at Madison Square Garden is all the rage on the Internet.

"From the moment he wakes up in the morning, he's spinning on his head," Beckham said.

Beckham said he's had no problem with the transition from living in Europe to the hectic pace of Los Angeles. He said he loves to drive around town, although one part of the U.S. culture -- football -- he doesn't quite get.

"I was watching the Super Bowl and I was thinking how long is it going to go on for because I didn't realize it went on for so long," Beckham said. "I thought it was the end of the game at certain parts and it went on for another two hours."

And while he doesn't expect soccer to eclipse the big three of football, basketball and baseball in the USA, he believes soccer can carve out a niche here.

"I've always said that I doubt very much it's going to be as big as those sports," Beckham said. "It probably shouldn't be because traditionally it's nice to have those sports. But I believe there is potential there for it to grow."

Back in L.A. after a 4-0 loss at Colorado last week, Beckham and the Galaxy play their home opener at The Home Depot Center Thursday night against rival San Jose.
