The Los Angeles Galaxy have refused to comment on reports in England that former Nigeria defender Celestine Babayaro is to join the club.
The 29-year-old was released by Newcastle before Christmas after failing to impress under then-manager Sam Allardyce.
A move to Los Angeles would reunite him with coach Ruud Gullit, who signed him for Chelsea in 1997.
Babayaro has also played for Rangers in Scotland.
