FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas announced today the schedule for the 2007 FC Dallas School of Excellence Training Camps, the Official Training Camp of Major League Soccer club FC Dallas. Training camps, which are open to both boys and girls between 7-16, begin on March 5 and run through the second week of August. Registration applications and the full camps schedule are now available at fcdallas.net.
The FC Dallas Schools of Excellence Training Camps are open to any player, regardless of club affiliation, who is interested in improving their skills and developing proper techniques that will help development. Age-specific training programs are designed to foster correct technical development and provide a better understanding of the game's overall tactics.
Young Player Development Camps, for players between 7-10 years old, are structured under a three-hour, four-day format. The first of only 10 Youth Development Camps begins on March 5 ($125 per camper).
Advanced Player Development Camps, which follow a 6 hour, four-day format, are designed to meet the tactical demands of competitive players aged 10 to 16. The first of five Advanced Development Camps These camps begins on June 11 ($275 per camper).
Spaces are limited and each camp session can accommodate a maximum of 45 players each. FCD's Kenny Cooper, Ramon Nunez, Drew Moor and others all helped coach these camps in 2006.
Training locations for the 2007 program include: Pizza Hut Park the home of FC Dallas, Rowlett Community Park, Founders Soccer Complex in Wylie, and Prestonwood Sports Organization in Plano.
In addition to top-class professional instruction, all students receive an official FC Dallas ball, an FC Dallas t-shirt, an invitation to a private FC Dallas practice observation, and a free ticket to a 2007 FC Dallas regular season home game featuring the School of Excellence Graduation.
