CARSON, CA - The Los Angeles Galaxy along with its corporate partners: Adidas, Herbalife, Hormel Foods, Macy's, Verizon, Western Union and 830 AM; successfully completed a season long clinic series that benefited underprivileged Hispanic youth in Southern California.
"We are very proud of this initiative, which is about enriching the lives of Hispanic youth through what we know best: soccer," said Assistant General Manager Tom Payne. "With the help of our partners we are given the opportunity to give back to our communities, which have given us so much support the past 11 years."
The Galaxy Hispanic Clinic Series consisted of the following dates and locations:
"We have found this to be very successful based on the turnout and response from the community," said Hispanic Clinic Series Coach Ralph Perez. "Each year it has grown bigger and better, and I look forward to what next year brings for all involved."
Through the Hispanic Clinic Series, the Galaxy aim to fulfill their commitment to its surrounding community by creating health and recreational activities and programs for disadvantaged and at risk children. The clinic series provided 680 participants, ages 8-14, the opportunity to strengthen their soccer skills through drills that tested their coordination, speed and ball handling.
In addition to the professional instruction participants received from coaches Ralph Perez and Edwin Portillo, L.A. Galaxy goalkeeper Kevin Hartman provided on field support at select clinics. All participants received a gift bag at the conclusion of the clinic, courtesy of our corporate sponsors.
