KANSAS CITY WIZARDS 1, LOS ANGELES GALAXY 0

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS HEAD COACH BOB GANSLER

On the team's sixth consecutive 1-0 shutout at home:
"We don't go out there with a score in mind, we go out to find a way to get a 'W', to get a win, and we will take them whichever way they come. For sure, we could have gone out there to only lose one-nothing, or go out for a tie, but we went to win. What we talked about most at halftime was how to get the second goal. We had some opportunities and they threw everything including the kitchen sink at us -- four offensive substitutions, but we knew that was coming. There was a lot of 'chess on grass' going on out there, but our defenders defended well and did what they had to do."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS FORWARD JOSH WOLFF

On the game:
"You get to this time of the year and games are very difficult and they are about getting a result. Tonight we were able to compete and work hard. We didn't give up a whole lot, but on the other end, we didn't create a lot. We did create just enough to win though. Jack (Jewsbury) had a great play on the ball and put them under pressure and put his shot on frame, I was just there to follow it up."

On the importance of home-field advantage:
"You like to think it is an important part of the playoffs, but we have to go on the road and do a good job first. You don't want to put yourself behind the 8-ball, and I don't think we have any intentions of doing that. We will go in there and try to get a result -- first and foremost try to get a tie, but if we can get a win we'll take that. We have to focus on the first one first, and worry about the second game later."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS GOALKEEPER BO OSHONIYI

On the Wizards backline:
"This was great. The defenders did a great job tonight; I think I only had one save on Herzog's freekick and other than that, those guys kept L.A.'s forward line in check. They were pushing everything at us and defensively we were able to shut them down. I give all the kudos to my defenders, they did a great job tonight."

On the 1-0 shutout:
"These are the type of games you are going to get in the playoffs, it is going to be 1-0 and 0-0 games. We had our share of those the last month of the season. Hopefully we can keep it going and get ready for the playoffs and ready to go out to San Jose and get a good result out there."
