WHAT'S NEXT: The Red-and-White will visit Real Salt Lake on August 6, at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. This will be the fourth and last time the two expansion teams face each other during the regular season. Chivas USA has won two out of the three games both at The Home Depot Center, its first victory on May 7, when the game ended 1-0 with a PK by Héctor Cuadros and their most recent on July 9, with a score of 5-1 with goals by Héctor Cuadros, Antonio Martínez, Matt Taylor, Thiago Martins and an own goal. Real Salt Lake beat Chivas USA 2-0 on May 18, at Rice-Eccles Stadium with goals by Andy Williams and Seth Trembly.


HÉCTOR CUADROS VS. REAL SALT LAKE: Chivas USA forward Héctor Cuadros is one of the two MLS players with the most goals scored against Real Salt Lake this season, with two goals in three games.


LAST GAME: Chivas USA logged their third win of the season at The Home Depot Center on July 22, with a 1-0 victory over the New England Revolution, one of MLS's top teams. The solitary goal was scored by Costa Rican international Douglas Sequeira.


THREE WINS IN FOUR GAMES: Chivas USA has won three out of the last four games. The Red-and-White registered their first win of the month on July 9, with a 5-2 victory over Real Salt Lake. Chivas USA then traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they made their U.S. Open Cup debut with a 3-2 victory over the Charlotte Eagles and their most recent at The Home Depot Center with a 1-0 victory over the New England Revolution.


GUZAN ON TOP: Chivas USA goalkeeper Brad Guzan has demonstrated his talent and capacity in the 16 games he's played in his inaugural season as a professional making him a leading candidates for the Rookie of the Year award. Guzan has registered 65 saves in 16 games logging a, 1.81 goals against average. Guzan has also saved two out of three penalty kicks this season while MetroStars Keeper Zach Wells has stopped two out of five PK's.


CHIVAS USA MAKING HISTORY: Chivas USA is one of three teams who hold the record for most goals scored in a game this 2005 season. The Red-and-White scored five on Real Salt Lake on July 9, and shares this achievement with the FC Dallas and with the Chicago Fire.


NINE POINTS FROM COLORADO: Despite Chivas USA's bad start this season, the Red-and-White still have a shot at making the playoffs since they are now 9 points from the Colorado Rapids who are in fourth place in the Western Standings.


AWAY FROM HOME FOR AUGUST: Chivas USA will be on the road and will not play a home game at The Home Depot Center for the whole month of August. Chivas USA will play the L.A. Galaxy on August 3, for the Forth Round of the 'Lamar Hunt' U.S. Open Cup; then they will visit Real Salt Lake on August 6. The Red-and-White will once again play the L.A. Galaxy on August 10 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in a doubleheader where Chivas de Guadalajara will play against Club America of Mexico. Chivas USA will then face D.C United on August 13, MetroStars on the 21st and FC Dallas on the 27th.


RODRIGO LÓPEZ CALLED UP TO MENS U-18: Chivas USA midfielder Rodrigo López was called up by Head Coach Bob Jenkins to form part of the Men's U-18 U.S. National Team, who will participate in 'Milk Cup' in Northern Ireland. The U.S. team will play their first match against Brazil on August 1 and Cameroon on August 3.


CHIVAS USA VS.SEAHORSES: Chivas USA played an exhibition last Saturday July 24, against the Seahorses of La Mirada, CA. The game was played at La Mirada High School and ended 3-2 in favor of the Red-and-White with goals by Thiago Martins, Rodrigo López and Christian Jimenez. The game was the debut of Mexican international Juan Pablo García.
