The countdown continues, to Real Salt Lake's historic Budweiser Hispanic Heritage Night (HHN) celebration with the event kicking off on Thursday, July 28 at Duvan's Karamba Nightclub at 9 p.m. MT being presented by Budweiser, Real Salt Lake, Bustos Media, and Univision. The schedule for the Hispanic Heritage Night celebration is as follows:
DUVAN'S KARAMBA NIGHTCLUB- 9:00 P.M. MT: Real Salt Lake kicking off Hispanic Heritage Night at Duvan's Karamba Nightclub, located at 1051 East 2100 South on Thursday, August 4 at 9:00 p.m. MT.
BUDWEISER HHN VIP RECEPTION - 2:30 P.M. MT: Budweiser and Real Salt Lake will entertain guests and clients in a VIP reception at a hospitality tent provided by Diamond Rental in the West parking lot with catering provided by Tony Roma's.
PARADE OF NATIONS - 3:30 P.M. MT: Leaders in the Utah Hispanic community will participate in a pre-game parade in recognition of the contributions from the diverse Utah community. Members of specific nations have been invited to dress in traditional attire from their specific nation.
HHN SCHOLARSHIP & LOCAL HEROES PRESENTATION - HALFTIME: Real Salt Lake, in conjunction with the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, will honor two worthy students with a pair of $500 scholarships. Following the scholarship presentation, each local Hispanic media outlet will nominate two individuals to be honored as local Hispanic heroes.
COPA PREMIER - LIGA LATINOAMERICANA: Real Salt Lake will recognize the 16 participating teams in the 2005 Copa Premier with an on-field presentation at halftime. Immediately following the Real Salt Lake-Chivas USA game, the Copa Premier final will feature Las Cruces and Piratas, both of the Liga Latinoamericana. The Copa Premier semifinals were played on Tuesday, with Las Cruces crushing Manchester of the Northern Premier Soccer League (NPSL) 3-0 and Piratas defeating Cruz Azul also of the NPSL by a score of 2-1 in Ogden, UT.
RSL PLAYERS TO PERFORM POST-GAME PHOTO SESSION ON AUGUST 6: RSL fans will be able to take a picture with their favorite RSL player on Saturday, August 6 after the team's final game against expansion brethren Chivas USA, which kicks off early at 4:00 p.m. MT, live on ESPN2. Real players will set up on the East and West concourses starting at 6:15 p.m. MT.
AUTOGRAPH SESSION: RSL fans who purchase 10 corner flag tickets at $15 each to the next home game against Chivas USA on Saturday, August 6 will receive a special invitation to a post-game autograph session featuring Chivas USA MF Ramon Ramirez and RSL's Guatemalan addition DF Gustavo Cabrera as part of the day's Budweiser Hispanic Heritage Night celebration. MATHIS' 30th MINUTE FREEKICK VOTED SIERRA MIST GOAL OF THE WEEK: Real Salt Lake MF Clint Mathis goal against FC Dallas on Saturday was selected as the Sierra Mist Goal of the Week for Week 17 with 43 percent of the votes after his low, line-drive freekick from 40-yards out snuck past the wall, and the outstretched hands of GK Scott Garlick. The 30th minute strike by the Georgia native was his second goal of the season, with honored as the League's Sierra Mist Goal of the Week. POPE TO MISS 2005 MLS ALL-STAR GAME: DF Eddie Pope, a nine-time MLS All-Star selection, will not be able to participate in Saturday's 2005 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game due to left ankle injury sustained in the semifinals of the Gold Cup against Honduras on July 21. Pope is replaced by Chicago Fire DF Ivan Guerrero for the MLS All-Star team that will face English Premier League club Fulham FC on Saturday, July 30 at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, live on ABC Sports at 1:30 p.m. MT.
ESPN SUPPORTERS CHALLENGE: The Loyalists, RSL's supporters group, were voted the "Best Fans in MLS" and now look to defend their title in an ESPN Supporters Challenge. ESPN has organized a friendly competition for the supporters groups of each team in the League and through this effort, the Loyalists have obtained 750 tickets for the Saturday, August 6 against Chivas USA and will be selling $25 tickets for only $13 on a first-come first-served basis. The seats are in section E33.
"This Supporters Challenge is a chance for RSL fans to be crowned at the top of the league in support of their team," said Loyalist President Glenn Webb.

RSL REPRESENTATIVES SUDSIN' IT UP: Real Salt Lake, in conjunction with the First Annual Matt Thomas Marathon Car Wash, will be washing cars at The Gateway located at 400 West 200 South to raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation of Utah on Friday, July 29. The event runs from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. MT, with RSL representatives aiding the cause in the afternoon.
RSL AT U92 SUMMER JAM: Real Salt Lake players are joining music entertainers at the U92 Summer Jams Concert Saturday, July 30 at the Utah State Fairgrounds as a part of the on-stage entertainment as well as signing autographs for all concert goers. RSL MF Andy Williams, FW Jamie Watson, MF Tiger Fitzpatrick, and MF Dipsy Selolwane will be at the Real Salt Lake booth at 4:30 p.m. MT to speak with fans, give away prizes, and sign autographs. In addition, RSL will open interactive fan zones at noon, including ticket and merchandise booths and soccer inflatables, testing soccer skills of local-area youth fans.
RSL PLAYERS MAKING VISITS TO SCHOOLS IN SLC SCHOOL DISTRICT: Real Salt Lake players will make several surprise visits to area schools on Monday, August 1 as a part of the partnership between RSL and the Salt Lake City School District encouraging local students to attend the first day of school. Six year-round elementary schools, including Bennion, Franklin, Meadowlark, Parkview, Rose Park, and Whittier, will receive a visit during the lunch-hour period, with RSL players commending students for attending school and announcing their reward of a sponsored ticket for the RSL -New England Revolution match. RSL players will also be stopping by traditional-schedule schools on Wednesday, August 24 within the Salt Lake City School District.
