Weekly update: Fan forum coming up

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Crew will host a Fan Forum in The Crew Stadium Huntington Club on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 7-8 p.m. The Fan Forum will give any Crew fan who wishes to attend an opportunity to interact and ask questions of Crew ownership, management, coaches and players. Participants in the Fan Forum are Investor-Operator Clark Hunt, General Manager Mark McCullers, Head Coach Sigi Schmid, midfielder/defender Frankie Hejduk, forward Edson Buddle and midfielder Eric Vasquez. The Crew will provide complimentary beverages and snacks.


The Crew is currently in the midst of a 12-day mini-camp that began on Oct. 31 and will run through Nov. 11, with the majority of the team in town, as well as additional non-rostered players in camp. Practice will take place at The Crew's training facility at Obetz. If there is inclement weather, the team will train at Capital University or inside at the Sports Barn at Easton.


WEDNESDAY WILL ALSO INCLUDE AN OPEN PRACTICE AND SEAT SELECTION FOR THE 2006 SEASON
Crew Soccer Nation members and non-members are invited to Crew Stadium on Wednesday, Nov. 9, to watch The Crew practice and to select new seats or upgrade their current seats for the 2006 season. All Crew Soccer Nation members who attend will be entered to win prizes, including a 2005 team autographed ball, a 2005 team autographed jersey and more. New Crew Soccer Nation members who purchase season tickets on Nov. 9 will be entered in a drawing to win a catered suite for a 2006 home game. Additional Crew prizes will be given to all those in attendance.


HOLIDAY MERCHANDISE SALE KICKS OFF WEDNESDAY IN CONJUNCTION WITH PRACTICE AND FAN FORUM
The Crew Gear store will kick off a holiday merchandise sale next Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 4:30-8:30 p.m. in conjunction with the open practice and fan forum. The Crew Gear store will offer special end of season sales of up to 50% off Crew merchandise. This will mark the kickoff of the holiday season sales allowing Crew Soccer Nation members and those attending the fan forum to take advantage of the ultimate sale on Crew Gear prior to the holiday rush. Fans can get their favorite Crew gear including jerseys, sweatshirts, long sleeve t-shirts, hats, blankets and more. Crew Gear is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the off-season.


WARZYCHA TO SCOUT ACC QUARTERFINALS ON WEDNESDAY AND BIG EAST SEMIFINALS ON FRIDAY
Crew Assistant Coach Robert Warzycha will be in Cary, N.C., on Wednesday, Nov. 9, to scout the four Atlantic Coast Conference quarterfinal games. The games are at Noon, 2:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the SAS Soccer Complex. After visiting North Carolina on Wednesday, Warzycha will the head to Storrs, Conn., on Friday, Nov.11 for the Big East semifinals. Providence faces South Florida at 3:30 p.m., followed by Connecticut vs. St. John's at 5:30 p.m.


MCCULLERS AND SCHMID TO ATTEND MLS CUP ON SUNDAY, GAME TELEVISED ON ABC SPORTS
Crew General Manager Mark McCullers and Head Coach Sigi Schmid will be attending MLS Cup on Sunday, Nov. 13, at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas. The Los Angeles Galaxy will face the New England Revolution at 3:30 p.m. in a game nationally televised on ABC Sports.
