GALAXY UNVEIL 2005 PRESEASON SCHEDULE, INCLUDING TRIPS TO HAWAII AND SPAIN:
The Los Angeles Galaxy have announced their 2005 preseason schedule. The calendar of activities includes high-octane exhibition matches in Hawaii and Spain. After spending the first two and a half weeks of the preseason training at home, the Galaxy will depart for Hawaii on February 20 and will face defending MLS Cup Champions D.C. United in the inaugural Aloha Soccer Cup at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on February 26. From the fiftieth state, the Galaxy return home for a handful of days before departing for Europe, where they are scheduled to play three games in 12 days. There will be little rest for the club as the preseason reaches its home stretch for Los Angeles. A trip to Northern California and an exhibition contest against the Fresno Fuego will be played on the March 19. The game marks the second consecutive year the teams have met in the preseason. After returning to Carson for the final time before the start of their tenth regular season, the Green and Gold are slated to play their final tune-up on March 23. CLUBS SELECTS FIVE PLAYERS WITH SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TIES IN MLS SUPPLEMENTAL DRAFT:
Last Friday, the Los Angeles Galaxy selected five players in the 2005 MLS Supplemental Draft. The primary purpose of the draft was to enable each of Major League Soccer's twelve teams to build their reserve teams, which will begin play this spring. With their first-round pick and the tenth overall selection in the draft, the Galaxy chose defender Ben Benditson from Cal State - Northridge and a native of Tarzana. With two selections in the second round, (numbers 19 and 22 overall) the Galaxy selected forward Drew McAthy of UC - Santa Barbara and defender Matt Kovar of Loyola Marymount. Choosing next with the 34th overall pick in the draft, Los Angeles tabbed UC-Davis forward Ryan Shaw, a native of La Cañada. The Galaxy's final selection was used to take University of Cincinnati forward Jeremiah Gallegos, who hails from Laguna Beach.

The Los Angeles Galaxy are pleased to once again offer fans "The Best Seats in the House" at The Home Depot Center. For the Galaxy's first two home games in 2005 (April 2 vs. Real Salt Lake and April 23 vs. CD Chivas USA), the club will be selling 100 seats along one touchline on a first-come, first-served basis. Each ticket costs $150 and includes a Decade of Stars t-shirt and the actual chair the fan sits in.
