MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER QUOTE SHEET
D.C. UNITED AT DALLAS BURN - JUNE 26, 2004

DALLAS BURN HEAD COACH COLIN CLARKE

On the team's performance:
"I think the first half was a little bit difficult for both teams. Neither team could really get anything going. They had us pushed back a little bit early and had two or three corners and then we had them pushed back a little bit. It was a funny game first half. We got the goal and then we didn't capitalize on it."

On Jason Kreis' goal:
"Ugly goal. It's being in the right place at the right time and you get a toe to it or you mis-hit it and it goes in the corner - those are the best ones."

On the midfield play:
"I think we created enough chances. I was happy we came out at the start of the second half and put them under pressure and could have scored one or two. Disappointed that we then we went and gave up a bad goal. But from then on I thought we played well."

DALLAS BURN FORWARD JASON KREIS

On what he takes from this match:
"Memories. Memories and the happy looks on my parents' and my family's face. I had a lot of family here and I'm looking forward to celebrating this with them."

"If I had to categorize it I would say that was a typical Jason Kreis goal. The ball's bouncing around there in the box and I'm there to finish it. It definitely won't go down as one of the prettiest ones I've scored."

On looking towards reaching 100 career goals:
"Eleven goals from now - I'd love to have that this season."

On the game:
"I'm a little disappointed. In the end it came down to a gut-check and I don't think we answered the call. We were fortunate to get 1-0 at the half and I really expected more out of the team coming out of the locker room in the second half. In the end I think we have to be disappointed with one point at home."

On where this ranks in terms of memorable goals:
"I don't know why but I still think the first one (in Burn history) felt better. Maybe if we had coupled this up with a strong performance and won 1-0 then I could rank it above the first goal."

DALLAS BURN MIDFIELDER OSCAR PAREJA

On the match:
"In the first half I thought we played good, our defense looked solid. I still think we need to play better, move the ball a little quicker. We need to be a little more effective in the attacking third. But in the end I thought it was good progress. I'm pretty confident that we can still play better than that."

On assisting on Kreis' record-setting goal:
"It's great. I have a good relationship with Jason. Since I've been with this team Jason has been like my best friend. Being part of his historic moment is great. I'm very happy for him and it's well deserved."

D.C. UNITED HEAD COACH PETER NOWAK

On the game:
"We worked very hard today. We had chances to win but, despite falling behind, our confidence remained strong."

On the building confidence:
"We expect to win every day. Today was a good result but we're not satisfied."

D.C. UNITED FORWARD ALECKO ESKANDARIAN

On the game:
"Our boys put a lot of hard work in today. I'm glad we got a point for our effort."

On his goal:
"I've been trying to make good runs. Bobby (Convey) swung in a great ball."

D.C. UNITED DEFENDER MIKE PETKE

On the game:
"On the road, it's always good to come away with a point. We should have had an early goal and lead, but we showed heart to come back like we did."

D.C. UNITED MIDFIELDER EARNIE STEWART

On the game:
"After falling behind, pretty disappointedly, we did well to come back. We gave everything we had to keep the point."
