Two FC Dallas players added to All-Star Game roster

DALLAS - MLS All-Star and FC Dallas Head Coach Colin Clarke announced his five additions for the 2005 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game today. Clarke selected two FC Dallas players to join the roster - midfielder Simo Valakari (first All-Star selection) and goalkeeper Scott Garlick (second All-Star selection). They join the four starters from FC Dallas to produce six total players on the MLS All-Star roster which are the most of any team in the league this year.

The six All-Stars for FC Dallas tie the highest total in the team's 10-year history. Dallas also posted six All-Stars during the 1997 MLS All-Star Game when the game was played between the Western and Eastern Conferences (Mark Dodd, Diego Sonora, Alain Sutter, Damian, Mark Santel and Dante Washington).

The 2005 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game will take place on Saturday, July 30 in Columbus Crew Stadium and will be televised nationally live on ABC Sports at 2:30 p.m. (CST).

The starting XI was determined by online fan balloting (25 percent), media votes (25 percent), players (25 percent), and MLS coaches and GMs (25 percent). Along with Clarke selecting the five reserves, Commissioner Don Garber made his two picks to comprise the 18-man MLS roster.
