Steve Sampson made a scouting visit to Costa Rica in early December.

the head coach of Costa Rica's national team in 2003 and early 2004 -- reportedly saw Umaña and de Lemos, both 22 years old, train with their club side on Dec. 14 during a trip to the Central American nation.

De Lemos told La Nación he is excited by the reported move to the Galaxy, saying he needs to talk to his agent to confirm Alí's claim that he is being transferred, but adding he is sure he is going to Los Angeles.

"It's what I've always wanted, and now I've realized this dream," de Lemos said.

De Lemos is in his third season for Herediano, where he has mainly been a reserve, and was a part of Costa Rica's under-23 team pre-Olympic qualifying team last year, though injury kept him out of the Athens Games. Umaña is a five-year veteran of the Costa Rican top flight, spending three years with Carmelita and two with Herediano. He also played for the Costa Rican Olympic team in Athens.
