Twenty L.A. Galaxy games during MLS season to be televised on FSN West and FSN West 2

CARSON, CA - Eighteen of the Los Angeles Galaxy's 32 MLS regular season games and two playoff games during the 2005 campaign will be broadcast to Southland television audiences by FSN West and FSN West 2, the club announced today. In addition, all Galaxy games on FSN West and FSN West 2 will be preceded by 30-minute pre-game show.

This partnership gives our most loyal fans the chance to follow us throughout the 2005 MLS season, including some of our marquee games, highlighted by our home opener and our annual Fourth of July Extravaganza, which are annual sell-outs."


Galaxy coverage on FSN West and FSN West 2 kicks off with the club's season opener against the Columbus Crew at Columbus Crew Stadium on Saturday, April 2 at 4:30 PM on FSN West. The same network will also air the Galaxy home opener against Real Salt Lake a week later.


Included in the package on both networks is a match against cross-town rival CD Chivas USA on July 16 as well as a road game against defending MLS Cup champions, D.C. United on August 20. The club will also meet the MetroStars twice on Fox, a home game on June 4 and a road contest on July 9.


The Galaxy's annual Fourth of July match will feature the Galaxy and the New England Revolution, the teams that met in MLS Cup 2002, with the Galaxy coming away victorious.


The club will also square off with the Chicago Fire, Colorado Rapids, FC Dallas, the Kansas City Wizards and the San Jose Earthquakes on regional television. A complete Galaxy television schedule will follow this release.


FSN West's Galaxy telecasts feature Max Bretos handling play-by-play and Allen Hopkins serving as color analyst. Bretos enters his third consecutive season as the Galaxy's play-by-play announcer and Hopkins is in his third season as color analyst.


FSN West provides 24-hour sports programming for over 5.8 million viewers in Southern California, Hawaii and Nevada and FSN West 2 provides programming to 4.7 million viewers in those regions. They combine to produce over 400 live sporting events and telecast 5,000 hours of original programming every year. FSN West and FSN West 2's comprehensive programming line up includes the Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers, Angels, Kings, Mighty Ducks, Galaxy, Chivas USA, Avengers, Sparks, UCLA and USC.
