San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Brian Mullan named Maggiano's Player Of The Month for October

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Brian Mullan has been named the Earthquakes Maggiano's Player of the Month for the month of October the team announced Tuesday at Maggiano's Little Italy restaurant in Santana Row in San Jose. Earthquakes midfielder Dwayne De Rosario picked up the team's Goal of the Month award for his amazing October 15 free kick goal against the Los Angeles Galaxy.


Mullan, 27, concluded another solid season for the Quakes with an exceptional month of October. The tireless midfielder helped push San Jose to a 2-0-1 record to close the regular season, scoring a goal and registering an assist in the season finale against L.A. on October 15. Mullan started and played every minute of the Quakes Western Conference Semifinal playoff series, sending a perfect cross to Brian Ching on October 29 in Game Two, providing the assist for the Earthquakes only goal of the game.


Earthquakes Honda MVP and winner of the Quakes Budweiser Golden Boot, De Rosario scored the team's Goal of the Month on October 15 in a 3-1 win over the Galaxy. The Quakes midfielder took the kick from just under 25 yards out and smashed a perfect, swerving strike that bent around the outside of the wall and soared into the top right corner of the net and out of reach of Galaxy goalkeeper Kevin Hartman. The goal was one of the finest ever scored in Earthquakes history and was recognized as the Sierra Mist MLS Goal Of The Week. It is still in contention for the Sierra Mist Goal of the Year.
