San Jose Earthquakes to host Hawaiian Night for second straight season on Saturday, August 6 at Spartan Stadium

SAN JOSE - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the team will host Hawaiian Night for the second straight year at Spartan Stadium on Saturday, August 6 when San Jose faces the Columbus Crew at 7:00 p.m. PT. The game will celebrate the Aloha spirit in the Bay Area and feature live Hawaiian entertainment, free costume leis, an optional pre-game Hawaiian luau buffet and the chance to win a trip to Honolulu, courtesy of Hawaiian Airlines and Aston ResortQuest.


       "Hawaiian Night was a very successful and fun event for everyone involved last season," said Earthquakes Interim President &amp; General Manager Kate McAllister. "With partners like Hawaiian Airlines, Aston Resort Quest, Hukilau Restaurants and KRTY, we are looking forward to another great night at Spartan Stadium." </p>


The festivities begin on August 6 with a pre-game luau buffet at 5:30 p.m. PT. To attend the luau, fans need to pre-purchase a separate luau ticket for eight dollars at sjearthquakes.com or by visiting the Earthquakes Ticket Office at 100 North Almaden Ave. The luau, catered by the Hukilau restaurant, will be limited to the first 350 people and will be held outside the East Gate on game day. The luau will also feature live Hawaiian entertainment.


    At halftime, four lucky fans will be selected at random to participate in a contest to win a trip for two to Honolulu, courtesy of Hawaiian Airlines and Aston ResortQuest. The winner will receive round trip airfare on Hawaiian Airlines and a five-night stay at the Aston Waikiki Resort.     The airline's connection to San Jose will be made more permanent in late September when Hawaiian Airlines begins direct service from San Jose to Honolulu.  </p>

In honor of Hawaiian night, the first 7,500 fans at the stadium will receive costume leis and halftime will feature Hawaiian entertainment.
