RSL single-game tickets on sale Saturday

SALT LAKE CITY - Real Salt Lake today announced that single-game tickets for the 2005 inaugural season will officially go on sale at the RSL Open House on the University of Utah campus at Rice-Eccles Stadium this Saturday, March 19, beginning at 10:00 a.m. MT. In addition, RSL will hold auditions for national anthem singers, public address announcers and videotape "Cantor-esque" goal calls for its inaugural season, as well as allow registration to be an RSL volunteer and Loyalists member. The days festivities run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.


"With exactly four weeks to go to our home opener, we know that fans are itching for a taste of the RSL experience," said RSL General Manager Steve Pastorino, who noted that the team will provide donuts, coffee and hot chocolate free of charge to fans (while supplies last). "On Saturday, fans can purchase single-game tickets and find out how they can be part of the action all season long. Fans, volunteers, Loyalists, aspiring singers - come one, come all!"

Real Salt Lake single-game tickets for its inaugural 2005 season at Rice-Eccles Stadium will go on sale at the University of Utah Ticket Office, located at the Stadium's south end, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Individual game prices are $32 for VIP west, $25 for premier east, $18 for corner flag and $14 for north goal. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the Utah Ticket Office at 451 South 1400 East, by logging onto www.utahtickets.com or by contacting the Ticket Office at (801) 581-UTIX.

REAL SALT LAKE PRESEASON UPDATE: RSL enters its final leg of preseason training today at the University of Redlands, Redlands, Calif. During its time in Southern California, RSL will make final preparations for its inaugural game against the MetroStars on Saturday, April 2, in New York by competing in three games against MLS teams. Its first contest is against expansion brethren CD Chivas USA on Wednesday, March 16, at The Home Depot Center's auxiliary fields in Carson, Calif. RSL then faces Rocky Mountain rivals Colorado Rapids in Houston, Texas, on Saturday, March 19, at Dyees Stadium, with the team making its final preseason stop in Tulsa, Okla., on Friday, March 25 to face the Kansas City Wizards at the University of Tulsa Soccer and Track Stadium.

RSL/adidas JERSEY LAUNCH RECAP: More than 500 people attended Real Salt Lake/adidas jersey unveiling at the Town Lift Plaza in downtown Park City, UT on Saturday, March 12. Ori Hoffer, from Park City Television, emceed the event which included music and performance dance with "Soldiers of Soul" performing break dancing and the Latin Heritage Group performing Latin-American folkloric dance. With a loud bang, the audience's attention was turned to the slope, where eight Park City Ski Team members paraded down the slope in RSL t-shirts while holding red flares. As the ski team neared the bottom of the slope, 22 youth from the Park City Ski Team unraveled a 60-foot replica jersey that was seen by all in attendance. The event concluded with FW Jason Kreis, GK DJ Countess, DF Nelson Akwari, DF Brian Dunseth and FW Sergio Flores modeling RSL's home and away jersey as well as the pre-game warm up top. MATHIS TRAINING IN COLORADO, POPE AWAITS TREATMENT: RSL MF/FW Clint Mathis continues with the U.S. Men's National Team, preparing for the final round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying matches in Colorado Springs, Colo. The U.S. National Team is scheduled to face Honduras in an exhibition game on March 19 in Albuquerque, N.M. at University Stadium at 2:00 p.m. MT. The U.S. moves on to face Mexico in its second CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier on Easter Sunday, March 27, in Mexico City, a game which will be televised live on ESPN2 and Telemundo at 11:00 a.m. MT. Before returning to the team for its inaugural game against the MetroStars, Mathis could also suit up for the U.S. National Team against the Guatemalan National Team on March 30 in Birmingham, Ala. RSL DF Eddie Pope, who left U.S. camp last week due to pelvic inflammation, continues to rehabilitate the injury and hopes to rejoin the U.S. in time for the two World Cup Qualifiers later this month.


BESAGNO & U-17s ENTERING FINAL ROUND: RSL 2005 MLS SuperDraft No. 1 pick MF Nik Besagno is with the U-17 National Team preparing for the final round of the CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament. The U-17 Men's National Team will face El Salvador, Cuba and Costa Rica in Group A of the CONCACAF Final Round Qualifying Tournament for the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship in San Jose, Costa Rica from April 12-16. Team USA, the only nation to qualify for all 10 FIFA U-17 World Championships, opens against El Salvador on Tuesday, April 12 at 12:00 p.m. MT, before facing Cuba on Thursday, April 14 at 12:00 p.m. MT and finishing group play against Costa Rica on Saturday, April 16 at 1:15 p.m. MT.


Real Salt Lake season ticket packages for the inaugural 2005 season at Rice-Eccles Stadium are now on sale. The RSL 2005 season ticket package features 21 games, including all 16 MLS regular season games, four special bonus games and the highly-anticipated U.S.-Costa Rica World Cup Qualifier on June 4. Real Salt Lake's season ticket pricing consist of Youth (15 and younger) and Adult in four price levels. Prices for the 2005 season ticket packages are $200 adult ($180 youth) for the North Goal, $300 adult ($240 youth) for the Corner Flag, $400 ($320 youth) for East Sideline and $500 ($400 youth) for VIP seats.
