RSL signs on to help uninsured kids

Real Salt Lake invites local media to attend a press conference in support of the Covering Kids & Families Back-to-School Campaign on Tuesday, August 2 at 11:00 a.m. MT. It will coincide with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation national kick-off for its sixth annual Covering Kids & Families Back-to-School Campaign in Washington, D.C. that same day.

The campaign encourages parents to include enrolling their eligible, uninsured children in Medicaid or CHIP as an important part of getting their children ready for the new school year. When children are healthy, they are better prepared to learn in the classroom and stay active on the playing field.

Utah Covering Kids & Families is part of a national initiative of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to reduce the number of uninsured children and adults. Covering Kids & Families coalitions across the country work with health professionals, educators, the business community, philanthropies, social service agencies, faith-based organizations and policy-makers to inform them about low-cost or free health care coverage. Since 2000, Covering Kids & Families has helped nearly 5 million uninsured children in the United States enroll in health care coverage through Medicaid and CHIP. Voices for Utah Children is the state grantee for the Covering Kids & Families initiative.
