Revolution 3, Burn 0 -- quote sheet

too many holes. But we sorted it out at halftime and went out and executed."

On Taylor Twellman's game:
"For working hard and keeping going - Taylor definitely did that. It was good to see he got the goal, he deserved the goal for the work he did. He can just go from there and get more."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION GOALKEEPER MATT REIS

On his two second half saves on Jason Kreis:
"On the free kick, I know he hits the ball a ton and that one he just kind of got inside-out of it, he tried to get back in to the near post and I just tried to wait. Both were just reactions. That's how I play. I try and get to good spots react as best I can to the ball. On the header, also, it was just kind of a reaction. He got free and got a good header and I just reacted to it and held on to it."

On the significance of the Revs' early goal:
"If you get a goal that early it's just great for the team because you just have a lot of game to go and everybody knows that it's not over right then. Just having that extra little cushion - especially us, the way we've been playing lately - helps out a lot because we have been giving up goals and we have been making mental mistakes but tonight we didn't. We were solid for 90 minutes."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION FORWARD TAYLOR TWELLMAN

On his goal:
"It helped the team out. You know, we were under pressure for like 80 minutes and to go up 2-0 - it's just helping the team."

On his role in the 4-5-1 formation:
"It's being a target. It's the part of my game I need to work on the most, being a target. Obviously, tonight was up and down - I did some good things with the ball, I did some stupid things with the ball. I'm just working on being a target. Fortunately, tonight, it was good winning 3-0."

On the result:
"To finally come out with a 3-0 result, coming up with the shutout was nice. I think it's well deserved."

DALLAS BURN HEAD COACH COLIN CLARKE

On allowing the early goal:
"We fell asleep three minutes in, which was disgraceful. They got their goal that they wanted, and then we weren't good enough. I don't think we reacted very well. They gave us a problem to solve and we didn't do a very good job of trying to solve it, particularly in the first half."

On whether there was some letdown after Saturday's dramatic win:
"There shouldn't be. Why should there be? Colorado and San Jose got beat and it could have been a great night for us and put us in a good position. We talked about it yesterday. People say we're battling with Colorado or San Jose but why can't we be battling Kansas City and L.A.? We had a great opportunity tonight to put ourselves in that position."

On trying to get the equalizer:
"It's tough when a team's got everybody behind the ball. We didn't do a good job of working out what we had to do with it to open it up. And then when we'd get into good [positions] we had some chances, just not very many. Our service from set plays just wasn't good enough. This was a night to dig in and show a little bit of heart and bite and fight and maybe something will just fall in the box and we get a toe-poke to it. We weren't prepared to do that."

DALLAS BURN DEFENDER CORY GIBBS

On the game:
"We came out flat and give up a goal in the first two-and-a-half minutes. It's a disappointing goal to give up and from there we just weren't patient enough. Player for player I still think we're the better team but we just didn't show it. We just came out too flat and not ready to play."

On the three goals:
"If you look at all of the goals, basically they were all counterattacks. We were just trying to apply pressure and they countered on us. We just weren't organized defensively on basically all three of the goals. They were all tap-ins and that just shouldn't happen."
