SALT LAKE CITY - Real Salt Lake reserves (2-5-2, 8 pts.) tallied its second draw of the season with a 2-2 tie against the New England Revolution (4-2-2, 14 pts.) at Trailside Park in Park City, Utah on Sunday. RSL's two goals were scored by MF Seth Trembly and FW Dante Washington, while FW Connally Edozien notched two goals for the Revolution.
New England tested RSL goalkeeper Jay Nolly early in the first half, when FW Khano Smith was taken down in the box by Nolly with the referee awarding a penalty kick to the Revolution. Edozien put New England up 1-0 scoring the penalty kick in the 11th minute. Both teams battled back and forth ending the first half 1-0.
RSL began the second half by substituting FW Dante Washington in for FW Jamie Watson to add fresh legs to the attack. Just 11 minutes into the second half, the Revolution scored its second goal of the match when Smith sent a cross into the box towards Edozien, who headed it into the upper 90 in the 56th minute.
RSL rallied back in the 68th minute to cut the Revolution lead in half when Trembly's give-and-go with Jordan Cila resulted in Trembly's first reserve goal of the season. Just three minutes later, RSL tied the game up when MF Adam Acosta had a quick restart after a foul at the top of the box and laid the ball off to Washington who rocketed a shot into the back of the net 71st minute with the game ending in a 2-2 draw.
