RICHARDSON, TEX. - The FC Dallas reserves and the Los Angeles Galaxy reserves tied 2-2 at the University of Texas at Dallas today. The Galaxy reserves were 4-0-0 heading into the match, but FC Dallas snapped their four-game winning streak with the tie.
FC Dallas opened the score in the 28th minute when Abe Thompson crossed the ball back from the left side of the box to Ty Maurin whose one timer found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
However, the Galaxy would respond three minutes later when Naldo made a long pass to a wide open Mubarike Chisoni who ran the ball all the way to the box and shot a crossed shot past Jeff Cassar to tie the game at 1-1.
In the 44th minute, FC Dallas broke the tie on a through pass down the middle from Maurin to Thompson who dribbled the ball to the left of the goalkeeper and fired a shot to an open net to take the 2-1 lead into halftime.
Again, Los Angeles would respond as Chisoni scored his second goal of the match in the 67th minute. He took advantage of a ball headed back from Alex Yi to Cassar. Chisoni anticipated the play and got to the ball before Cassar, dribbled him and scored the equalizer.
In the 77th minute the referee awarded FC Dallas a penalty kick when Thompson got fouled inside the box in a tackle from behind. Carey Talley took the penalty kick and shot to the lower left corner but Los Angeles goalkeeper Steve Cronin made a great save to preserve the 2-2 final score.
