SALT LAKE CITY - Real Salt Lake forward Jamie Watson netted RSL's first goal in the 51st minute while Midfielder Leighton O'Brien added the second goal in 54th minute in a 2-2 draw today against expansion brethren Club Deportivo Chivas USA in Carson, Calif. This game marks the first meeting between the two teams, with the first official game coming at the Home Depot Center on Friday, May 7.
"Every game during preseason has been helpful and with Chivas USA we ran into a tactical situation," said RSL Head Coach John Ellinger. "The progress of our younger players is coming along and today they demonstrated they are closing the gap on the senior players."

Chivas USA No. 1 2004 Expansion Draft pick FW Arturo Torres scored the lone goal of the first half in the 22nd minute putting our expansion brethren up 1-0. Rookie FW Jamie Watson notched RSL's first goal when MF Kevin Novak made a breaking run down the right passing the ball off to Watson who nailed it in the back of the net in the 51st minute. Just three minutes later, MF Leighton O'Brien scored his first goal of the preseason during a penalty kick in the 54th minute after being brought down hard in the box. The final goal came just after regulation when MF Hector Cuadros netted Chivas USA's second goal in the 91st minute ending the game in 2-2 draw.

RSL OPEN HOUSE SATURDAY, MARCH 19: RSL Open House will be held on the University of Utah campus at Rice-Eccles Stadium this Saturday, March 19, beginning at 10:00 a.m. MT. In addition, RSL will hold auditions for national anthem singers, public address announcers and videotape "Cantor-esque" goal calls for its inaugural season, as well as allow registration to be an RSL volunteer and Loyalists member. The days festivities run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
SINGLE-GAME TICKETS ON SALE SATURDAY, MARCH 19 AT RSL OPEN HOUSE: Real Salt Lake single-game tickets for its inaugural 2005 season at Rice-Eccles Stadium will go on sale at the University of Utah Ticket Office, located at the Stadium's south end, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Individual game prices are $32 for VIP west, $25 for premier east, $18 for corner flag and $14 for north goal. Real Salt Lake season ticket packages for the inaugural 2005 season at Rice-Eccles Stadium are now on sale. The RSL 2005 season ticket package features 21 games, including all 16 MLS regular season games, four special bonus games and the highly-anticipated U.S.-Costa Rica World Cup Qualifier on June 4. Real Salt Lake's season ticket pricing consist of Youth (15 and younger) and Adult in four price levels. Prices for the 2005 season ticket packages are $200 adult ($180 youth) for the North Goal, $300 adult ($240 youth) for the Corner Flag, $400 ($320 youth) for East Sideline and $500 ($400 youth) for VIP seats.
