Opening statement:
"Today is an important day for Chivas USA. The first point I want to touch upon is that today Hans Westerhof is from now on is no longer coach of Chivas USA. We'd like to thank Hans Westerhof for his professionalism for everything he's dedicated to this team, not only to Chivas USA but to the entire Chivas institution."
On the hiring of Bob Bradley as Chivas USA Head Coach:
"We're very happy to have Bob Bradley with us, a coach who is the winningest coach in Major League Soccer, one of the coaches whose teams have scored the most goals in the history of the league and someone who knows the league and soccer very well. We're very happy to have him as part of Chivas USA."
CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH BOB BRADLEY
Opening statement:
"First of all, I want to thank Antonio for the opportunity to join Chivas USA. I've been lucky to be involved with MLS for ten years and the part that I enjoy more than anything is to try to make a team that the supporters and fans can really feel a part of. To come to Chivas USA, where there is already this tradition where there are fans that care so much about the club, and to take the responsibility of trying to build a team where Chivas fans everywhere can really take pride in and support and be proud of the way the team plays and the way the team wins, that is a challenge that I am incredibly excited about."
On Chivas' traditional style of play:
"I think Antonio has made it very clear that we all owe the fans a winning team and that the heart and the tradition from Mexico must always be there. I've been lucky to be in the Estadio Jalisco to watch Chivas, there is a way the team plays, there's a mentality, there's a spirit on the field, there's an attitude. That's what that team is and of course it must have a Mexican base. But beyond that, you must wear those colors the right way. You must play for Chivas so that the supporters can see that and be proud of that. That's what has been made clear to me and that's what we will try to build from here on out."
