The San Jose Earthquakes return home after a long week in unfamiliar territory - at the foot of the Western Conference table for the first time in nearly four seasons, and having now failed to win in their last five league contests. They play host to a Colorado Rapids that endured a disappointing few days of their own, taking a three-game winning streak into a home-and-home series with the Los Angeles Galaxy that they thought could define the West - and coming away with just one point while failing to score a single goal.
