SAN JOSE - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today their game times and ESPN2 television schedule for the 2005 season. The Quakes will be featured on ESPN2's Soccer Saturday four times in 2005, making their first appearance on Saturday, April 9 in the second game of the season when they host CD Chivas USA at 1:00 p.m. PT. The Quakes local television and radio schedule will be released at a later date.
The Earthquakes can also be seen on ESPN2 May 7 at the MetroStars at 1:00 p.m. PT and twice vs. the Los Angeles Galaxy on June 25 at 7:00 p.m. PT and August 27 at 1:00 p.m. PT.
MLS also announced its complete national television schedule today, with ABC Sports again broadcasting a game on Opening Day and both of the League's marquee events in 2005, the Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game on July 30 and MLS Cup 2005 on November 13.
For the first time since 1999, the Quakes will play a 32-game schedule with 16 home games and 16 road games. The Quakes fan-friendly home schedule features 14 Saturday games with 12 7:00 p.m. starts and just two Wednesday night games. Overall, the team plays 26 of 32 games on Saturdays and 28 of 32 games on weekends.
San Jose Earthquakes season ticket packages for the 2005 season at Spartan Stadium are now on sale. The Earthquakes 2005 season ticket package features 18 games, including all MLS regular season games and special bonus games. The Quakes season ticket pricing once again consists of a Youth (14 and younger) and a Senior (60 and over) discount in three price levels. Prices for 2005 season ticket packages are: $198 adult ($162 youth/senior) for Endzone, $252 adult ($198 youth/senior) for East Sideline, $450 ($396 youth/senior) for West Sideline and $720 for VIP seats.
