Earnie Stewart -- but the core of the team is back and I think everybody is extremely hungry to
get the season going. We're putting the championship behind us because that was last year. It's
a great memory, but it's a whole brand new year and anything can happen. Whatever is going to
come of this is going to be up to us, so everybody is ready to work.
Selected in 1998 as the eighth overall pick in the MLS College Draft by the MetroStars, Petke is
one of the most experienced players on the United roster. He joined D.C. for the 2003 season
after five years with the Metros, three of which he was selected as an MLS All-Star (2000, 2001
and 2002).
