Online auction for Tom Fitzgerald Scholarship Fund raises over $4,400

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Crew announced today that over $4,400 has been raised from its on-line auction that was a part of the Tom Fitzgerald Memorial Soccer Festival that was held on Sunday, February 13, in Tampa, Fla.


All proceeds from the auction will help fund the Tom Fitzgerald Memorial Scholarship named after the UT soccer coach and former Crew head coach who died in December from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.


Three items went for over $300, topped by a Clint Mathis Real Salt Lake jersey at $371. Also going for over $300 was a 2002 U.S. World Cup Team autographed ball ($355) and Tom Fitzgerald's personal set of MLS team pins for the inaugural 1996 season ($305).
