NEW YORK - Midfielder Ronnie O'Brien added to his honors this week when his goal in the Dallas Burn's 4-1 victory over the Chicago Fire on Saturday, August 28 was selected as the Sierra Mist Goal of the Week for the week ending August 29, 2004 (Week 22). O'Brien, who also was chosen as the MLS Player of the Week on Monday, kicked off the scoring with his second goal of the season.

The Goal of the Week winner is determined from a selection of finalists through a fan vote conducted on the Sierra Mist Goal of the Week section of Major League Soccer's official web site: www.MLSnet.com.

O'Brien opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark. The Irish winger made a great individual run into the box, turning Chicago defender Orlando Perez this way and that before slipping the ball through his legs and then calmly finishing past Fire goalkeeper Henry Ring for his fifth career MLS goal.

The third-year player (67 percent of the vote) was the clear favorite. Teammate Toni Nhleko's goal finished in second place (11 percent) and was followed by a pair from Burn forward Eddie Johnson and a header from Nate Jaqua of the Chicago Fire.

Streaming video highlights and goals from MLS games are available for viewing every weekend on MLSnet.com just hours after the conclusion of the final match of the weekend. The Sierra Mist Goal of the Week winner is announced the following Wednesday.

At the end of the regular season, each of the 29 Goal of the Week winners selected throughout the season will be featured in voting for the Sierra Mist MLS Goal of the Year, an award presented annually to the author of the season's most spectacular scoring play. The Sierra Mist Goal of the Year award will be announced in the days leading up to MLS Cup 2004.
