MLS Disciplinary Committee issues fines to Razov, Nicol, Ben Dayan and Nkong

NEW YORK - The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee today fined MetroStars forward Ante Razov $500 for failure to leave the field in an orderly fashion and prolonged excessive dissent following the red card he received in the 80th minute of the MetroStars 2-2 with the Chicago Fire on Wednesday, October 5. Razov's fine was in addition to the automatic $100 fine for lack of respect of the game he incurred with the initial yellow card and $250 for his red card, bringing the total fine to $850.


The Disciplinary Committee also fined New England Revolution head coach Steve Nicol $250 for public criticism of game officials in comments that appeared in the Boston Globe on October 2, 2005. In addition, Rapids teammates Dedi Ben Dayan and Alain Nkong were each fined $250 for inappropriate goal celebrations in the Rapids 3-1 victory over Chivas USA on September 24 at The Home Depot Center.
