FC Dallas weren't the only team on the ropes tonight. The Minnesota Thunder dumped out Real Salt Lake in a wild 6-4 match, while Chivas USA were extended to extra time in a 3-2 win against the Charlotte Eagles.
"These games are difficult as you see by the other results tonight," said Clarke. "You put a young team out there, people who are starting for the first time, playing with each other for the first time.
"This is Wilmington's biggest game of the season, they're gonna come here and they start out with the first one and pack it in and ask us to break them down."
The strike from Mina to finish the game got a smile out of Clarke.
"Hell of a goal," said Clarke. "Hell of a strike. It's a nice icing on the cake for us."
