MetroStars to play in friendly against Rochester Raging Rhinos

SECAUCUS, N.J. - The MetroStars will travel to Rochester, New York to play in a friendly against the Rochester Raging Rhinos on Monday, June 27, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at Frontier Field


The Raging Rhinos are a United Soccer League First Division Team and are coached by Laurie Calloway. MetroStars defender Carlos Mendes played for the Raging Rhinos during the 2003 and 2004 seasons before being signed to the MetroStars on March 21, 2005. Mendes played in 37 games and scored one goal during his time with the team.


"It's always a treat for Rhinos fans when a great MLS squad such as the MetroStars can match up against our team," said Rhinos Vice President and General Manager Chris Economides.


"We look forward to playing the Rhinos," said MetroStars Head Coach Bob Bradley. "Rochester has tremendous support for the game of soccer and we look forward to taking the MetroStars to Frontier Field."
